A deceased is a human being from the time of his death until the expiration of his postmortem personality protection . The memory of the deceased is protected under criminal law from disparagement ( Section 189 of the Criminal Code ). After the burial or the finding of a lifeless missing person one speaks (also) of a dead person. The term deceased is to be distinguished from the term corpse , which only refers to the body . [1]
